  1. Oceans and Coasts Representative on the South African Delegations at WSSD Prepcoms 2, 3, & 4, 2002.
  2. Leader of SA  delegations at the following forums/activities:-Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD). – Oceans, New York USA. Responsibilities:  preparing and negotiating for South African positions.Negotiations with the European Union (EU), Responsibilities: to negotiate a mutually beneficial Fisheries Agreement Council on Fisheries (COFI) of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
  3. National policy and legislation, 1996-1998:-Responsibilities: Project Leader for Drafting of the White Paper and the Act on   Living Marine Resources. After drafting, the documents were piloted through Cabinet and Parliament.
