Capacity Building Activities
NORAD Capacity Building ProgrammeThe Norwegian Aid Agency NORAD has been providing funding for capacity building in the DEAT Sub-Directorate for Global Climate Change since 2002. This funding has provided for customised training courses for staff from this sub-directorate and other areas of government in subjects such as environmental law, greenhouse gas inventory preparation and vulnerability and adaptation. It has also funded the production of specific products to assist the staff in the directorate with their everyday work - such as a database and this website. This programme of funding is due to end in April 2005.The capacity building programme has been delivered by Econ Analysis (Norway) and Palmer Development Group (PDG)(Johannesburg).
