The Cape Metropolitan Area (CMA) is situated in the Western Cape of South Africa.  The CMA falls within the Cape Floristic Region, which is rich in biodiversity and is regarded as one of six floristic kingdoms on Earth.  Bounded by oceans and containing a mountain chain with surrounding sand flats and beaches makes the CMA a unique scenic experience and a popular tourist destination.  The CMA boasts some of the countries top tourist attractions and , as a result, captures 52% of all international visitors to South Africa.

See vital statistics about the CMA, including Population, extent, as well as links to other baseline information on this site.
