State of the Environment

About the CMA
Infrastructure
The CMA has inequitably distributed basic infrastructure. Rapid urbanisation and urban growth in the CMA has placed greater pressure on existing basic infrastructure and added to backlogs in the provision of basic services such as water supply, electricity and waste removal.

Note that transportation issues, including roads, railways and harbours, are addressed in Transportation.

 

Issues
In order to provide a detailed description of the state of the environment, the focus has been to identify and examine specific issues within an overall theme in order to examine the state and pressures on each of these issues more thoroughly.
