About the CMA
Urbanisation
Rapid urbanisation in the CMA, principally the result of population growth and rural-urban in-migration, has resulted in urban sprawl. This has in turn compounded existing spatial and social inequities. The process of urbanisation has also placed increased pressure on infrastructure and basic services.

 


Issues
In order to provide a detailed description of the state of the environment, the focus has been to identify and examine specific issues within an overall theme in order to examine the state and pressures on each of these issues more thoroughly.
