Forum on Science, Technology and Sustainable Development
South Africa and the European Commission hosted two days at the Forum on Science, Technology and Sustainable Development.
2 and 3 September 2002 were devoted to this event. Following the opening by Dr Ben Ngubane, South African Minister of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology, several sessions took place on Monday, 2 September:
- Science and Technology in Sustainable Development
- The Fresh Water Challenge
- Global Monitoring for Sustainable Development: An Initiative from Europe
- Combating Poverty-related Diseases: a European and Developing Countries Partnership
- The Future of Industry in a Changing World
- Energy for Sustainable Development
The topic, Capacity Building and Partnerships, was covered on Tuesday, 3 September, and was followed by conclusions and networking and the Ministerial Session.
