The Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism invites members
of the public and interested and affected persons to report on
any of the following incidents:
- Tip-offs Anonymous on Workplace dishonesty is
the Department of Environmental Affairs & Tourism’s
independent hotline service provider, designed to help to report
workplace dishonesty, while remaining totally anonymous. Tip-offs’ serves
as a valuable practical deterrent tool against dishonest, inappropriate
or unacceptable behaviour within our department. Members of the
public and interested and affected persons may contact the following
number to report any such incident:

- Tip-offs on Contraventions of Environmental Legislation
Members of the public and any interested and affected
persons may report any contraventions of environmental legislation
or permits, including the dumping, burying or burning of any
kind of waste; any soil or air pollution; the acquisition, sale,
storage, transport and spillage of hazardous chemical waste as
well as any unauthorized development by contacting:

- Tip-off on Environmental Emergency Incidents
Environmental emergency incidents are unplanned events
that can cause, or have the potential to cause serious damage
to people’s health and the environment. Emergency incidents
will include spillage of hazardous chemicals, leakage of noxious
gases, gas explosions, uncontrolled fires and oil spillages.

Form to report environmental emergency incidents
The Departments of Environmental Affairs and Tourism has a legal
obligation to record such events and to minimise the risk of future
occurrences. You are requested to assist the Department in this
regard by reporting such incidents to Emergency-Reporting@deat.gov.za or

- The location of the incident.
- The time of the incident.
- Brief description of the incident.
