Who We Are

The Directorate: Environmental Monitoring and Reporting is one of four directorates in the Chief Directorate: Environmental Planning and Coordination which, in turn, resorts under the Branch: Environmental Management. Within this directorate the first National State of the Environment Report for South Africa was initiated. The report was published in October 1999. The report was published in October 1999. The directorate is currently engaged in several major initiatives. These include reporting on the state of the environment, the development of environmental indicators and the development of a GIS Intranet. If you are interested to find out more follow the links provided in the menu
