The Ngqusi/Inxaxo estuary

28°31' E)
is situated south of the coastal town of Port St Johns on the Transkei coast of the Eastern Cape. This system drains a total catchment area of approximately 134 sq. km. Approximately 19% of the Ngqusi/Inxaxo catchment comprised agriculture, mostly subsistence farming. About 27% of the land-cover comprised degraded grassland while 54% was natural. Natural land-cover consisted mainly of grassland, bushland, and forest. There did not appear to be any major development in the Ngqusi-Inxaxo catchment.
