July 2000:
Pachamama means Mother Earth in the Inca culture. It means living in total harmony with the Earth and not from the Earth.
Pachamama Our Earth - Our Future was recently published by UNEP. It is a compilation of case studies, poems and drawings to tell the story of our global environment. It also tells about what is being done around the world to protect the environment. It ends with a set of true stories relating what young people around the world are doing to protect their environment. This document is now available on line. Click here
The CD-ROM to accompany Pachamama will be available from April 2000.
A lot of information in Pachamama has come out of the Global Environmental Outlook (GEO) Report. GEO is prepared by UNEP and provides an overview of the health of our environmentand of policies that are in place to manage the environment and to tackle environmental problems.
