23 June 2017 - The Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) will once again host the SA Agulhas II Open Day taking place on the 24th of June 2017, at the East Pier Quay, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. The SA Agulhas II is a state of the art polar research and supply vessel, and plays a crucial role in support of the country’s involvement in Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic Islands.

18 June 2017 - The Minister of Environmental Affairs, Dr Eda Molewa, and the Minister of Natural Resources of the Republic of Rwanda, Dr Vincent Biruta, have signed an environmental cooperation agreement between the two countries. Ministers Molewa and Biruta met in Kigali, Rwanda, on 16 June 2017 to discuss the significance of sustainable development in the protection and enhancement of the environment.
