24 July 2018

The Indaba, being held under the theme “Celebrating 25 years of biodiversity science and its progress towards policy, practice, people interface” will focus on progress on the implementation plan in particular issues relating to successes and barriers within the biodiversity research sector.  It provides a platform for evidence priorities to be discussed under the lenses of science, policy, practice and people that are an integral part of the overall National Biodiversity Research and Evidence Strategy. The two-day Indaba will take into consideration that this year the sector is celebrating 25 years of action for biodiversity science and its progress towards policy, practice, people interface.

The 2018 Indaba key focal areas that are also aligned to the domestication of the Sustainable Development Goals and the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans are:

  • Species of special concern (with a specific focus on Elephant Management)
