Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries suspends a senior manager amid allegations of misconduct

The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries has placed its Deputy Director-General: Chemicals and Waste Management, Mr Mark Gordon, on precautionary suspension effective from 03 February 2020.

This suspension follows a preliminary investigation into alleged acts of serious misconduct. The suspension is precautionary in nature to allow for the completion of the investigation which the Department will endeavour to expedite.

The employee is accordingly not allowed to communicate with his Departmental officials, industry stakeholders and service providers until the investigation has been concluded.
