South Africa and Norway Science Week explore opportunities in the Oceans Economy

The second leg of the week-long Norway-South Africa Science Week, will continue in Cape Town from Tuesday, 01 to Friday, 04 November 2016, at various venues in and around Cape Town.

The science week will focus on opportunities that the oceans economy presents for both South Africa and its international partners, such as, Norway, which has a wealth of experience in the oceans economy. South Africa and Norway are also key partners with a wide variety of research programs.

Under the theme: Value Creation in Ocean Space - New Opportunities in the Blue Economy, Science Week aims to bring together and forge new relationships from different stakeholders of national entities, infrastructure holders, key players from higher education, research, innovation and business in South Africa and Norway, who can share their perspectives and expertise.

Various sessions are scheduled to take place which aim to identify potential joint work areas, project concepts, as well as the scope for enhancing South Africa as a Gateway to Antarctica. Members of the media are invited to attend the workshop as per the details below.
